When the Matsuba snow crab fishery embargo is lifted on November 6, fullfledged winter will be onset onto the Kyotango area. The City gets exhilarated by the many tourists visiting the hotels and inns in the City to enjoy the nationally-famous winter gourmet food. Kyotango is also famous for its heavy snowfall, where visitors can enjoy the beautiful silver scenery covered with snow, which is totally different from the scenery we can see in other seasons.

|The name “Ashiginu” refers to silk fabrics of the ancient days.
